Donnelly Beach and Minerva Lake

In 1931 the Town of Minerva build a dam across Jones Brook creating an artificial lake, a beach and a playground.  The beach is named for Francis Donnelly who first became the Town Supervisor in 1932 and served as Supervisor until his death in 1980, for a total of 46 years.

Donnelly Beach on Minerva Lake 2021

The beach is charming and the recreational area has everything that you will need for a fun family outing.  There are lots of picnic tables and charcoal grills for your family picnics.  There are some easy hiking trails, three small islands to be explored, two playgrounds, a tennis and basketball court and even a horseshoe pit!

There are no motorized boats allowed but Minerva Lake is great for canoeing, kayaking, sailing and fishing.
