COMMUNITY COMPOSTING
A MESSAGE FROM THE TOWN OF MINERVA,
Friends and Neighbors,
I would like to thank the presenters as well as the people who attended the “Community Composting” forum on Wednesday, April 21.
This was a very interesting and informative program. Community composting could be a nice program for the town of Minerva.
The first step will be a feasibility study. This is necessary to make sure that community composting is truly a good fit for the town of Minerva. Some interesting facts are that there are no landfills in the Adirondack Park and all trash is transported outside of the Adirondack Park. The current cost for municipal disposal of trash is in excess of $87.00 per ton and the town of Minerva currently generates over 400 tons of trash per year.
If you missed the forum or would like more information the two PowerPoints are on the town of Minerva website at: https://townofminerva.com/community-composting/.
If you would like to discuss community composting, please give me a call or stop by the town hall. I would be happy to answer any questions you have or get this information for you.
Thank you for your interest in this important initiative in our Town.
