Minerva Ice Skating Rink

Ice Skating in Minerva

Skating in our community has changed significantly over the years. In the beginning, residents would clear a section of the lake’s surface to create a skating area. This nostalgic experience still takes place today, even after a dedicated skating rink was built next to the basketball courts. The rink improved safety and alleviated concerns about thin ice. Most recently, the “old” skating rink was demolished to make way for an enhanced skating rink, which is now constructed annually and housed under the newest pavilion.

The new skating rink is open to the public during the winter months, as long as weather conditions permit the ice to freeze. We also provide a warming hut and offer ice skates for public use at no cost. We kindly ask that you take care of the skates while using them and ensure that the building is left tidy when you finish.

Skaters of all ages are welcome to come and enjoy the fun. In addition, we offer a delightful night skating experience, where the rink is lit for those who wish to glide after dark.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the Town Hall at (518) 251-2869.
